10th – 12th October 2008 – The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education with the help of the Malaysian Students Department, UMNO Auckland Club, UMSA and PETUNIA organized a Unity and Integration Seminar at the University of Auckland for Malaysian students studying abroad, specifically in New Zealand. 50 Malaysian students from various cities in New Zealand, representing the various Malaysian students association took part in this two day seminar.
Various positive thoughts and ideas were expressed and shared by the students with the facilitators who were flown into New Zealand from Malaysia. The students shared their ‘Malaysian Dream” which included ideas such as an additional public holiday! This was a wonderful opportunity for UMNO Auckland committee and members as well as other Malaysian students in New Zealand not only to gather to strengthen our bonds but also to be able to share our thoughts and hopes to make our beloved Malaysia a better place as we are the future leaders of Malaysia.
The UMNO Auckland team would like to thank all those who attended the seminar and we hoped that the seminar was beneficial and acted as an eye opener to all of us. We also hope that all that we have gained in this foreign land will be valuable in serving our homeland as professional graduates in the future.
